Dissemination event at the forthcoming ESSDERC/ESSCIRC 2023 in Lisbon!

"Emulating, Listening and communicating with neurons"

Join us for a whole day event at the joint #ESSDERC #ESSCIRC 2023 conference in Lisbon in September! The event is structured as a workshop arising from truly interdisciplinary EU projects #BeFerroSynaptic, #INFET and #Crossbrain.

✅ The event addresses three different viewpoints showcasing the latest developments in #neuromorphic systems and brain-interfacing technology. Firstly, an introductory insight will be given into aspects such as relevant signals and their timescales in biology versus artificial systems, signal encoding and interpretation. Then, presenters will showcase a selection of new nano(electronic) technology solutions under study to emulate, sense and communicate with neurons. Talks will span from material/devices to circuits, systems and integration challenges. Among these: the #synaptic operation of advanced CMOS-compatible #ferroelectric devices, the design and measured performance of the #texel neuromorphic chip. The latest developments in high performance micro-electrode #arrays and their integration with CMOS readouts will exemplify the state-of-the-art in “listening” technology. We will also highlight the challenges of “communicating” with neurons via #iontronic based #neuromodulation techniques, and via perspective #microbot nanotechnology for detection and prevention of dysfunctional neural behaviors. Last but not the least, the need of new models and simulators in support of engineering devices for neurosciences will be addressed and exemplified.

👥 Target: The event is part of the ESSDERC/ESSCIRC 2023 conference in Lisbon, Portugal. Please visit https://lnkd.in/de-uUtub for details, registration fees, and general info.

🗓 Duration: 10am to 6pm - Monday, September 11, 2023.

📍 Location: Lisboa Congress Center - CCL / Praša das Industrias 1, 11300-307 - Lisboa, Portugal.

💰 Fee: Many options are possible depending on whether you intend to attend just the dissemination events/workshops/tutorials or also the conference. Visit https://lnkd.in/dciZzwhr for more details.

🖥 Program: The program includes an opening speech from the workshop organizer, 3 keynote speeches from the PIs of the 3 projects (#BeFerroSynaptic, #INFET, #Crossbrain) followed by 8 technical talks by from internationally renowned project members, each focused on a specific topic. Lunch and coffee breaks will be provided. For detailed program and speakers’ bio, visit https://lnkd.in/dQaPMrKP.

See you in Lisbon!

Fifth Edition

September 10th and 11th 2020, remotely

Fourth Edition

21-22 September 2017. Perugia, Italy

Seventh European SINANO Summer School
Bertinoro (Forlý-Cesena, Italy) on October 16-21, 2016

Historically the SINANO Summer School is devoted to various aspects of modeling and simulation + contributions from European projects and other EU initiatives.

The aim of the 2016 edition of the Summer School is to further enhance the knowledge of PhD students and postdoctoral researchers in the field of modeling and reliability of electronic devices with special focus on emerging technology domains in Europe.
To this purpose, the School will be organized jointly with the MIGAS School on Advanced Microelectronics-Grenoble and will also host five Workshops connected to the EC road-mapping project NEREID, focused on Nanoscale FETs, Smart Energy, Energy for Autonomous Systems, Smart Sensors, and Connectivity.

More details on the SINANO Summer School can be found in the 7th SINANO Summer School website.
